BLEACHING

Before starting with the procedure, the dentist determines whether your teeth are suitable for bleaching and explains you what to expect and to gain from this treatment. Usually, the results after the bleaching show drastic difference, but the final effect vary depending on each individual. In most cases when the teeth colour is changed, the bleaching shows good results, while in the more difficult cases there is a need for longer treatment contrary to the standard procedure that lasts one hour.

There are two effective methods of teeth bleaching:
1. Teeth bleaching in-office
2. Home teeth bleaching

1. In one visit the dentist will bleach the teeth in less than an hour.
- The teeth are polished
- We protect your gums and lips with isolation material
- The bleaching gel is professionally applied.
- Your bleaching is done after 2x15 minute applications

The bleaching gel contains hydrogen peroxide as an active component. After it is applied on the teeth, oxygen is released that enters under the surface of the teeth in the enamel and dentin, bleaching the substances that have coloured the tooth, leaving the tooth itself unchanged.
It is for the best to avoid too warm and too cold beverages in the next 24 hours.

Maintenance after the bleaching treatment.

If you have good habits, your white teeth will preserve their colour up to two years.
The activities like smoking, drinking coffee, tea, and dark soft drinks, and rare visits of the dentist, contribute to faster losing of the whiteness.

The best thing that you can do to maintain your teeth white is to brush them twice a day or after each meal, and also to clean them with dental floss. To keep your teeth bright you can also use toothpaste for whitening and soft toothbrush. You should also visit your dentist every six months for regular cleaning and examinations.
